Tutors2Maths - Who are we?
Based in Guernsey, Tutors2Maths has been set up as a dedicated maths tutoring service by Sara Parfit and David Peel. We are both experienced maths teachers with a passion for developing the love of maths to students. Our ethos is that if you are having fun, learning will take place. As a result our programmes are activity based using games, problem solving and student collaboration.

Our tutors have experience in teaching students with specific needs. Please remember to let us know if your child has a specific learning need and we will endeavour to put them in a group with a suitable qualified and experienced tutor.

Meet the Tutors

Sara Parfit
Hi - I'm Sara and a mother of 5 children! I've been involved with education all my life. After graduating from University of Cardiff with a Honours degree in Chemistry I joined the Royal Air Force as an Education Officer where I taught maths, physics and electronics for 12 years. After a period of living in Dallas, Texas I returned to Guernsey with my family and have been teaching maths in Guernsey since 2004. I have also worked within learning support and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia and Literacy.
David Peel

Hi - I'm David, born and bred in Guernsey! I graduated from the University of Kent with an Honours degree in Pure Mathematics and Statistics. On returning to the island, I joined the actuarial profession and qualified as an actuary in 2004. I began tutoring Maths in 2011 and moved into education on a full-time basis in 2013 as a Learning Support Assistant. In 2015 I began teaching Maths and completed my teaching qualification in May 2016.

Thank you for running the Easter revision course Sara and Dave, it was a huge help and amazing teaching by both of you, it will be a great success if you do it again :) and I will recommend it to everyone!

Dave has helped me so much this year as he clears up things I've found difficult in class and makes them seem easy. He also teaches me new topics I haven't covered yet in class. I would definitely be struggling a lot more in Maths if I didn't have him to explain things clearly to me. Dave has been invaluable in helping me through my A Level and I would definitely not be doing so well without him!
